I just did some checking, and apparently “Australian-style licorice” refers to softer, more chewy licorice rather than the harder all-sorts style (which generally has the consistency of the sole of a running shoe). As a side note, if anyone ever offers you salt licorice, decline. Sweet christ, that stuff is fucking awful. They add salt instead of sugar for a truly nausea-inducing horror. It is beyond imagining what sort of degenerate lifeform could find salt licorice pleasing.
