Someone is dealing with debilitating chronic pain and has thoughts of suicide, how do you step in to help them?

1 Answer

Answer :

answer:What a terribly difficult situation to be in. I happen to know exactly what you’re going through first hand. I’m not going through it with a family member, but it is with one of my closest and oldest friends. This is what I’ve come up with: I can’t make decisions for the person. I can make blunt suggestions and offer my help in many different ways such as calling divorce lawyers, real estate agents, etc. I can even say I would be there to help with physical care if the person was closer instead of isolated. I can do much, but I can’t make the final decisions. Only my friend can do that. It’s emotionally draining to be in this position, but I have to recognize my own powerlessness over the situation and do what I can.
