I think sadness and inspiration go hand in hand together. I love writing stories, but suffered writer’s block for some time. It sounds strange but just weeks after my grandad died, absolutely loads of story ideas kept popping into my mind! I think we also need to “vent” our sadness – i.e, we need to get our feelings off our chest. When we are happy, we don’t have anything stressing us out that we feel the need to get off our chest.
