answer:You’ve got me baffled. Google Earth shows “Cape May – Lewes” as Route 9 (since a roadway itself won’t show up in the photos, all I can see is the line on the representation of Delaware Bay). But Mapquest shows the same representation as “Cape May – Lewes Ferry” ... and I’d be more inclined to believe that, as both representations show the Jersey end to terminate in an apparent waterway. That is, the roadway for Rt. 9 seems to terminate at a shore, and then the ferry runs out the mouth of a waterway between Cape May Point and North Cape May. So if I were you my next step would be to look up information on the Cape May – Lewes Ferry and talk to someone there.
