This is like 30 years ago, before broadband and WFH options. My company wasn't happy with all the paid snow days one year so they announced a new policy. I called it the touch and go policy. If you didn't go to work on a snow day you had to take a vacation day but if you went to work, badged in, and turned around and drove home you didn't. I told my boss I wasn't about to waste vacation days when it snowed so I was going to drive, badge in, and turn around and go home. I also told him I had a copy of the policy at home and told my wife to sue the shit out of the company if anything happened to me on the way to or from work. My boss told HR. The policy was recinded a few weeks later.
