In screw conveyor, an endless helicoids screw is fitted to the shaft. On one end of the shaft, the driving mechanism is fitted and the other end of the shaft is supported on a ball bearing. While the screw is rotating, the coal is transferred` from one end to the other end.
Bucket conveyors are used as vertical lifts. The coal is loaded at the bottom and unloaded at the top in the bucket conveyors.
