It so happened that summer residents are in a state of continuous war with these cute animals, called moles. Vigilantly guarding their plantations, they are merciless to uninvited guests. But moles do not give up so easily in their desire to visit every garden. Whatever summer residents use in the course of their hostilities, from chemical weapons to various tricks, moles easily hold the line of defense, taking advantage of their natural advantages: hearing, smell, cunning and courage.
In their desire to force the enemy to surrender, summer residents use a trick: they bury fish heads in the ground, hide beans with garlic in worm holes, use means of struggle made according to the latest technology. But even with the help of electronic scarers that use a battery charge, it is impossible to defeat a mole entrenched in the area.
Practice shows that it is better not to admit this animal to your site than to expel it from there later. Having noticed the first "enemy spies", it is necessary to immediately declare "martial law". To fight at this stage, it is most convenient to use an ordinary shovel.
When fresh "slides" left by the mole appear, you need to trample them with your feet and pretend that you absolutely do not care what he does there. For camouflage, you can do something in the garden, but the "place of hostilities" should not be overlooked. With your careful behavior, the mole will soon begin restoration work. Having detected movement on the object, immediately start the operation "to neutralize the enemy." To do this, making your way to the rear, crush the freshly raised ground with your foot. The frightened animal will try to retreat back, but it will be stopped by an obstacle prepared by you - a newly destroyed tunnel. Having no other way out, he will begin to restore it, and, being carried away by work, will lose his vigilance. Then you can easily dig it out with a shovel.
But this method is suitable only if one or two moles are in charge of your site. If there are more of them, then you cannot do without mole traps. Mole traps are wire traps that have been used for a long time and have undergone many improvements during their existence. Today they are sold in many hardware stores. Every seasoned summer resident will say that metal mole traps should be bought. Plastic ones cannot be compared with them and are not dangerous for an adult mole. They are only good for fighting stupid youngsters.
Explore the area before setting the trap. The found tunnel should be slightly trampled down with your foot and the mole should be given time to restore it. If this did not happen, then the mole does not use this move and it makes no sense to set a trap here. If the move is "working", then traps should be set in it in pairs, orienting the entrance rings in different directions. The place where the traps are hidden should be well camouflaged using turf, pieces of slate or planks.
