Answer :

The material used for heavy duty motor cycle like 350 cc motor cycle depends upon design, strength and type of frame being used. Generally, Steel is commonly used material due to reasons like joining of parts is easy, raw material cost relatively lesser, young’s modulus is high etc.

Low alloy nickel plated chromium and molybdenum steel is used for making frame of such heady duty motorcycle. It has high fatigue strength, abrasion and impact resistance, toughness and torsional strength. It can be heat treated in number of ways to give it a desired combination of properties. The steel is known as AISI4140 steel.

The some parts are made of aluminum alloy to reduce the weight.
