Define: (i) Trail , (ii) Caster angle
i) Trail: Trail refers to distance between imaginary point where the steering axis intersect the ground and the centre of tyre contact point.
Measured length between the imaginary point and centre of front tyre contact is known as front trail .
Distance between the imaginary point and the centre of rear tyre contact point is known as rear trail.
ii) Caster Angle –
The angle between the vertical line and king pin centre line in the plane of the wheel is called the caster angle. It ranges from 20 to 80.
