Pizza can be enjoyed throughout the day, and even on the go, with this delicious, simple recipe. Add pepperoni or cooked sausage for a meat-lover's version.
Ingredients:
8 slices bread of choice
¼ cup prepared tomato or pizza sauce
8 fresh basil leaves
8 to 10 black olives, pitted, chopped
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 (8- to 10-ounce) ball mozzarella cheese, sliced
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions:
1. Preheat Panini grill or griddle.
2. On bottom half of bread, spread tomato sauce evenly. Top with basil and olives; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Top with mozzarella slices and Parmesan cheese; replace top half of bread.
3. Place sandwich on Panini grill and cook until bread is lightly golden and inside has melted, 5 to 6 minutes. Slice in half and serve warm.
