The baby should be vaccinated against polio and BCG vaccine as soon as possible after birth. If it is not possible to vaccinate the baby at birth , then within 20 days he should be vaccinated against polio and given BCG vaccine. The baby should be gently wiped with a clean cloth as soon as it is born. Then wrap it from head to toe with another dry cloth.
