Before starting to build your garage, you must think of all the plans and all council codes and laws. Make sure that you have all the information on hand and all legal aspects cleared up and out of the way.
Step one: The basics, prepare all of your materials beforehand and have plans on hand as well, these will serve as a personal reference guide to use and refer back to.
Step two: Lay your foundation; this would usually be using a concrete mix. The shape of your garage will be square. Make sure the ground is completely even and clear of all debris.
Step three: Use supporting stud to lay out your support beams and make sure they are at least 16-20 inches apart.
Step four: Position your wall by nailing it into place. Make sure your pre-cut wall pieces are even and straight. This part might require more than one person, as you will need someone to hold up the wall.
Step five: You will need to frame your roof.
Step six: Apply sheathing; you should use plywood, as this will be the best thing for the job. This would also be the most economical choice to make.
Step seven: Install all of your windows and doors. Make sure the window sizes are correct. The window case should have no visible damage.
Step eight: Install the insulation.
Step nine: Complete the roof by adding shingles, thus making the roof waterproof. This helps water run off and keeps the inside dry.
