How to Remove Genital Warts
Genital warts are nasty on all counts. When these things form, they appear as thick mounds of loose skin. They, unlike normal warts, are reddish in color and bulge like little cauliflowers. Sometimes they are accompanied by a sharp pain, epsecially when you press hard on them. To get rid of genital warts, you can use homemade and commercial solutions. For severe cases, the warts are removed through surgery.
Homemade Solutions
Your home has several items that come as unlikely remedies for genital warts. Some are natural antiseptics used for cleansing the skin while others are highly acidic, used for killing off germs. Just check the contents of your cupboard whenever you need an instant remedy.
Tea Tree Oil - Tea tree oil is a natural antispetic and antibacterial solution. Use it rid dirt and germs off the warts. To apply, pour an ample amount onto a cotton ball. Run the ball on the warts. You also have the option to apply the oil directly if the warts are clumped in bunches. Do the procedure twice or thrice a day. In a week, the warts should have decreased in size, significantly.
Olive Oil - Olive oil may be the element that makes pasta delectable, but, unknown to some, it is an effective skin cleansing solution. Apply the oil directly on the warts. Distribute it evenly using a cotton ball or a piece of cloth. Do the procedure thrice a day and in a week or two, you should see the results.
Apple Cider Vinegar - If both olive oil and tree oil don’t work, you need to use a more powerful solution. Apple cider vinegar is highly acidic, meaning it can thoroughly clean your wart and eradicate germs with prolonged contact. Apply the solution on the warts then wrap them with cotton strips and plaster. After about half a day, remove the cotton and plaster, to let the skin breathe for awhile. Just repeat the procedure until the wart is finally gone.
Commercial Solutions
Effective as homemade solutions are, their commerical counterparts produce results faster. Their active ingredients are potent enough to shorten the healing process for warts. Some of the known solutions are:
imiquimod
fluorouracil cream
podofilox
podophyllin anti-mitotic
trichloroacetic acid.
They are applied to the warts directly, as each has a distinct means of attacking the wart. Just apply as instructed by your doctor.
Surgery for Genital Wart Removal
If all else fails, surgery appears as your immediate solution to stop a wart outbreak. Consult your doctor regarding the warts. He or she, in turn, will diagnose your condition, in which will determine the best form of surgery to be applied. Here are his options:
pulse dye laser surgery
cauterization
liquid nitrogen cryosurgery
Be mindful when having your warts checked. Make sure your doctor is highly experienced in the field. A single miscalculation may lead to a nasty side effect or may trigger a new outbreak of warts.
