However, for kids it is meant only for fun. We are not talking here of building a fort that is a huge structure made up of stones, bricks and mortar. In fact, it is smaller than that and trendy. It is suggested that they take help of any adult persons or their parents and especially a carpenter to do it.
Place
Kids should search for a place where they can build their fort. Generally, it is their very own garden place or beside a pool. However, a place shall not be chosen which people use often.
Items Required
The following items are required in order to build a fort. It is advised to keep the instrument box near, as they may appear handy. They are as follows:
Hand saw
Electric drill, iron nails and screws
Screwdriver, hammer, and other tools
Wooden planks, wood pieces and card boards
Wires and wire cutters
Wooden posts
Pencil and measuring tape
Ropes
Paints, curtains, etc to decorate the fort
Start Building
Plant wooden posts or beams on the place selected for building up the fort. Remember that the base of the fort must be strong. Measure up the area and space required so that a kid can go inside it.
By the help of a drilling machine, make holes for the screws. Chop up wood pieces and planks to build up the outer walls of the forts with the handsaw, fix it with nails and screws, and fix it with wooden poles attached to the beams.
After the fort’s outer walls have been constructed, remember to make way for the doors and windows. Do not complete the roof at this time. It is better to get inside the fort and complete the remaining construction process. Care should be taken to nail the corners and joints of the wooden pieces and screw it whenever required.
Now it is time to construct the roof of the fort. Sorry kids, you will not be able to stand on the roof as it may weaken the poles. With the saw, the roof barracks are chopped at intervals to give it a medieval look. Your fort should be completed by this time. Make sure that it is strong.
Decorate
To give it a real look, paint the fort with a brick color. Raise a colored flag on the roof by a thin wooden post. Now get inside it, hang up the curtains, and take the necessary items required by you when you will stay inside it. Stack it with cushions to make it cozy for yourself.
