The tools on your dahboard keep you safe, and it’s one of the most visible parts inside your car. All drivers need to make sure their dashboards are clean.
Unlike car upholstery, leather and other car parts, there is no special cleaner specifically made for dashboards available. That’s why you need to improvise and use different household items in making your dashboard cleaner.
First, wet a towel with water, preferably warm. Wipe down the dashboard just to prepare it for cleaning. Spray the dashboard with your regular liquid car cleaner or window cleaner, which is available at any automotive store. The cloth should be soft to avoid scratches on the dashboard. When you’re done, just let it dry.
Apply a vinyl protectant spray on a clean towel or cloth. Again, wipe down the dashboard. Go on wiping and spraying until the entire dashboard is covered. Remember to spray on the cloth and not the dashboard itself to avoid accidental sprays on your windshield and other areas.
After five to eight minutes of letting the protectant spray sit, wipe the dashboard with a microfiber towel. This will remove leftover dust and dirt, and give the dashboard a streak-free, smooth finish.
