: Alessandro Giuseppe Antonio Anastasio Volta (Italian: Alessandro Giuseppe Antonio Anastasio Volta; born February 18 , 1845 - died March 5 , 1826) was an Italian physicist who pioneered the invention of electricity. He is remembered for his invention of the first battery or power cell in the 18th century. He was born in Como. He studied in a government school there. In 184 he was appointed professor of physics at the Royal School of Como . The following year he discovered electrophores from which he was able to generate static electricity. The unit of electrical voltage in the SI unit system is named after him Volt (code V) . He worked to improve the quality of the electrophores and to generate static electricity. This discovery was so costly that it outweighed the cost of operating the Swedish John Wick machine in 182. Alasandro Volta invented the modern version of the modern battery, Voltaire Stupt, in 1800 because of differences with Luigi Galvani over the galvanic operation . The most effective metals are zinc and silver. In the 180's, the International Electrical Conference (now the International Electro-Technical Commission IEC) approved the volt as a unit of electrical potential. He studied gas in chemistry between 16-7. He discovered methane gas. He continued his search in various parts of Italy after reading an article by Benjamin Franklin in the United States entitled ' Flaming Winds ' . Then methane was found in Lake Maggiore on November 18 , 18. Then on the 16th he showed the ability to solidify methane.
