A simple calorimeter is used to diagnose acid-base mitigation enthalpy. The common calorimeter is a glass beaker , which is housed in another large glass beaker. The space between the two beakers is filled with heat-conducting material such as cotton , to reduce the amount of heat loss. The beaker has a lid with two holes in the mouth. A glass beaker is inserted through a hole and a thermometer is inserted through another hole.
