Transistors are made to amplify electrical signals. The active region of the transistor is the ground / back. The thinner the back , the stronger the discharging collector's electric field. As a result, if a small current enters the back area, it will have a huge effect on the circuit. That is, the value of flow gain ( B) will be excessive. This is why the base part of the transistor is thinned.
