Answer : A general view of the Sudanese region in northern Gambia. The region is bounded on the north by the Sahil and Sahara deserts , and on the south by a mixed forest-Savannah region, further south by the Guinean and Congolese forests near the equator. The Cameroonian highlands divide the Sudanese region into east and west. The Sudan region receives more rainfall than the Sahil region, making it more suitable for agriculture. The grasses here are also longer than the Sahel region. The name Sudan comes from the Arabic bilad-as-sudan which means the land of blacks.
