Why do my black walnuts have small white worms between the husk and the nut?

1 Answer

Answer :

After the nuts have fallen, you can rake them up and get rid of them or maybe let the squirrels take them.  In the late fall after everything is finished, spray dormant oil on the tree.  Follow the directions on the container, wear long clothes, goggles, mask, hat & gloves.  Keep children and pets away from this area until it is dry.  In the spring there is a scheduled spray until the blooms open.  After than you can spray the trunk up to the first branches.  Worms travel up and down the trunk.
