It happens occasionally. I usually just deal with it, as I won’t bring the animal back to life by sending it back, and it would be wasting food. I do let them know of the problem, though.

That will get most of the water off/out of ... up or sputter. Most modern extension cords are pretty watertight so there shouldn't be any water down the wire.
