Answer :

I would have to say it is a coincidence as the Dummy card in a PCMCIA slot doesn’t do anything except keep foreign matter from entering the case. If you re-position the screen and the colors and patterns disappear, then the monitor flat cable is in question. If it does not, the video part of your laptop is in question. Welcome to ask-public!
