One, it takes a while for your immune system to work. A cold is a virus not caused by the cold weather but the cold weather will make it harder to fight. Your body is overworking in the winter trying to keep you warm so its kind of busy when you catch a cold. As for the sinuses your body is trying to get rid of the virus by creating mucus to expel the virus. Unfortanely nasal drip often goes down your throat and into your lung creating more havac. I will usually rinse my sinuses with saline solution and then use nasal drip at the beginning of a cold to limit the amount of mucus at the first sign of a cold. If that isn’t working than I take therma flu and that usually will stop it before it gets really bad. I take the therma flu day time one. It doesn’t make me sluggish like other cold meds and last for hours. If you are home try the therma flu night. You will feel way better by morning. As for your ears, your sinuses and ear canals run into each other slightly. Ever notice when you blow your nose you ears will pop?
