answer:I like the new function that shows you if there was a similar question – that helps keep the repeats down. But outside of that, I totally agree with you. If I know of a relevant, similar question, I’ll link to it. Often, they might need to be asked again because (1) there’s a new development with the general issue, (2) the prior thread has become MONSTROUSLY long, or (3) it’s too old to be followed by new members.

Last Answer : answer:I don’t think so. Some spammers wait for a day, even 2 or 3 or more, before they spam. The waiting period will have no effect on these kinds of spammers. Not to mention some spammers spam by answering, and even spam directly on their profiles.

Last Answer : No. They do end up in the “Questions for You” section if you have linked to a topic (I think!). Nobody gets specific questions sent to them unless a member chooses to share that question. I sometimes share questions I notice that I know are right up a specific member’s alley.

What you could do, when that user is commenting on your question and the answer is in any way not in accordance with the ... and use your mouse wheel to scroll the page twenty centimeters down and you can open your eyes again now.

Last Answer : No. We just answer the questions. Sometimes, if it is very obvious and it’s not a new user, we may gently suggest that search engines are your friends along with providing the answer.
