Even though it will require possibly unprecedented levels of cooperation, work out how to divide your assets equitably yourselves if you can. Otherwise, fair. You may feel like cutting each other’s guts out right now, but down the road there is a lot of potential for rewarding friendship with someone you felt like marrying once. However, if your spouse wants to take ALL from you and make you hurt, then your lawyer must be someone who can defend you from that kind of childish spiteful stuff.
