I’m proficient in several programs, including WordRight, Bottom Line, and Quick Pages. Instead of just saying she is computer literate, this candidate goes beyond that and discusses which software programs she knows how to use. The programs she chooses to highlight are those that are relevant to the job for which she’s applying.

Never Say: “I know how to go online and I can use a word processor.” This candidate should be more specific, making a point of mentioning programs that are specific to his field.
