If you are at risk for developing Heart disease, there are a many things you can do to lower your risk. The most important thing you can do is to quit smoking and/or avoid those who do. Reduce the amount of sodium and saturated fats in your diet and eat more fiber -- whole grains, leafy greens, fruits, etc. In addition, get some aerobic exercise every day, around 15 to 20 minutes. Drink alcohol only in moderation (one drink per day can help increase your levels of HDL "good" cholesterol).
