Cancer is not a disease like the flu, in which case your own body is the enemy, it has a broken mechanism and there are more than 100 varieties and even within them there is a lot of variation per person. The mouse is used in tests because it is a bit like a human, but not so intelligent that animal protectors and the general public would protest very much against it. Many drugs work perfectly in mice and then later on in human tests it soon turns out that it doesn’t work at all as expected. There is a lot to look forward to with any new cure because the drugs are seriously checked before they are marketed.
