Need to wake up early for any sort of reason? Here are some steps to wake up early and get your day started as soon as possible. Read on for more.
Sleep Early
The surefire way to wake up early is to sleep early. Your body instinctively needs eight hours of sleep, and will adjust itself accordingly when you sleep earlier than you do. This is not a surefire way of getting up early, but it will make your body more energetic and ready to get up as soon as the alarms ring.
The best kind of sleep to induce waking early is natural sleep. Avoid using sleeping pills, as these may cause you to oversleep. Avoid drinking alcoholic drinks as well. Try drinking warm milk or tea to help you get comfortable. A warm bath also helps.
If you do wake up in the middle of the night, try to go back to sleep as soon as possible.
Make it a Habit
waking up earlyThe best way for you to get up early consistently is by making a habit out of it. Routine may sound boring, but it’s the best way for your body to get relaxed and prepared for the next day. If you routinely get up at seven am, there is lesser chances of you oversleeping, since your body is already used at getting up at this time.
Drink Lots of Water
One thing that is sure to get us to wake up? The urge to pee. Drink lots of water before you sleep, and the urge to pee will wake you up very early. Sometimes you might wake up a little too early, but if you can, don’t go back to sleep. Otherwise, you can just drink some more water to give you an urge to pee later on.
Set Multiple Alarms
When it comes to waking early, you are your own worst enemy. Avoid inadvertently making yourself late by turning off your alarm when it rings. Invest in multiple loud alarms and set them up all around your room. Place them in spots you can’t reach without standing up, but make sure they’re still loud enough to break through your unconscious. That way, when you snooze one alarm, another alarm will pick up the slack.
Have Someone Wake You
It helps to have a housemate who is a morning person. Ask someone who has an earlier day routine to wake up until you are out of the bed. Give them an incentive, such as a nice dinner or allowing them to splash water in your face should you be difficult to wake.
Avoid Stimulants
Don’t eat chocolate and don’t drink coffee or soda the night before you need to wake up early. They will mess up your sleeping patterns and cause you wake up late.
