The chairs usually found on deck are used for relaxation and comfort. There are usually separate chairs for children and adults.

Necessities in building a chair
A clear hardwood of either birch or maple tree, approximately 8 foot, 4 slip washers, 4 lock washers, almost 3/8 inches, 4 carriage bolts
5/16 inches, 4 nuts and 10 wooden screws. Separately, after the above mentioned things, denim, canvas and fused drapery or duck. Equivalent
bonding or witchery web, almost 40-3/4- x 12-1/2-inches, (52- x 18-inches). A thread is requisite.

1. Fabric seat: Almost about a quarter-inch and another quarter-inch of fabric is pressed on the edges. The edges need to be stitched
properly along the sides along each of the 2 wraps. Another quarter-inch of almost 2 and 3/4-inches is folded along sides to make the
comfortable sleeves for the wooden chair. Then, another fold of almost quarter-inch is kept and edge-stitched properly. Stitching lines are
reinforced by a sewing machine in a zigzag manner.

2. Wood is marked and well cut in following measurement:

22-inches (16-1/2-inches) in length cut 2 pieces (label as A)
36-inches (48-inches) in length cut 2 pieces (label as B)
13-1/2-inches (18-inches) in length cut 2 pieces (label as C)
18-inches (23-1/2-inches) in length cut 1 piece (label as D)
24-3/4-inches (33-inches) in length cut 2 pieces (label as E)
15-inches (20-1/2-inches) in length cut 2 pieces (label as F)3. It is better to label all of the pieces to avoid confusions on measurements. Almost about 3 to 8 inches deep, notches are cut in A, F
and D (smoothen the edges with saw and then carve out base leveled). Engrave check-mark grooves, almost 3 to 4-inches deep in wooden named as
E.
4. Right through the boards B, E and C, drill holes right in the middle of it ad assemble as shown in diagram. Larger nuts and bolt heads.
With a larger bit, countersink the appropriate side of each hole to accommodate bolt heads and nuts.

5. Slip the rounded A named piece into the sleeve at top of fabric seat, having the round edge facing up at top. Slip the rounded F named
piece through the sleeve at the bottom of the fabric seat, having a round edge and facing up at the bottom.

6. On a flat surface, assemble pieces named E and F to form a rectangle, fitting notches in place. Drill holes (to fit screws),
1-1/2-inches deep through the top ends of F pieces centered over notches. With a larger bit, countersink holes to hold screw heads. Screw
together. Assemble pieces named A and B to form a rectangle, fitting notches in place, being careful that fabric is not twisted and that
rounded A piece is in correct position. Drill holes (to fit screws), 1-1/2-inches deep through the top ends of A pieces, centered over
notches. Countersink holes as before. Screw together. Assemble pieces C and piece D into a U-shape, fitting notches in place. Drill holes (to
fit screws), 1-1/2-inches deep through top ends of piece D centered over notches. Countersink as before. Screw together.

7. Bolt unit’s together, leaving bolted joints slightly loose so chair may be folded up.

Hence you have your deck chair.
