Is it necessary to recite Surah Fatiha in the prayer behind the Imam ? - Shamim Ahmed.
[email protected] There is no need to recite any Kerat of Muktadis behind Imam. Because , the recitation of the Imam is enough for the Muqtadis. It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (R) that surely the Prophet (peace be upon him) said that the recitation of the Imam of the person who has the Imam will be considered as the recitation for him. (Sunan Ibn Majah , Hadith No. 650 , Sunanul Bayhaqi Kubra , Hadith No. 2623 , Sunan Dara Kutni , Hadith No. 1 , Tahabi Sharif , Hadith No. 118 , Musnad Ahmad , Hadith No. 14843 , Musnad Abd Bin Humaid , Hadith No. 1050 , Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah , Hadith No. 3700 , Musannaf Abdur Razzak , Hadith No. 2698 , Al Muzamul Awsat , Hadith No. 6569 , Mu'ammam Imam - 9 ) The most important thing is that the recitation of the Imam is sufficient for the Muqtadis - this is proved by the 'Amale Mutawatir' (widespread and followed practice of the age) of the Sahaba , Tabein and Tabe-Tabein eras. Its purity was a matter of recognition to them. The deeds of Abdullah bin Masood , Zayd bin Thabit , Jabir bin Abdullah and Abdullah bin Omar Razi were similar. If Narasulullah (peace be upon him) had instructed the Muqtadis to recite the Qur'an behind the Imam , they would have known that. And they acted accordingly and taught the people. However, their practice was not to read the Qur'an behind the Imam and they have taught the people about it . Majmawzawaid 110: 2 Al- Jawharun Naqih 162: 1 Asharussunan 117: 1 Umdatul Qari 6: 3 Fathul Mulhim 20: 2 Ilaus Sunan 43: 4 ; Tabari 38:11 Tafsir Ibn Kathir 1: 261 I have never heard that if the Imam recites the Qur'an aloud and the Muqtadi is silent , then the prayer of the Muqtadi will not take place. ” He added : " The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) , the Sahaabah , and the Tabi'een , the masters from the people of Hijaz , the shawri from the scholars of Iraq , the awaazis from the people of Syria , and the lais from Egypt . It will not be clean. ” (Al-Mughni 602: 1)
