All praise is due to Allah. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “The believers are brothers. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning ) : The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “One believer is closer to another believer than the head is near the body. The believer feels the pain of the believer in the same way that the whole body aches due to the pain in the head. ” [Musnad Ahmad] Ibn al-Qayyim has very nicely summed up the types of sympathy of one believer towards another believer , he said: There are several ways to express sympathy towards a believer. Compassion with resources. Compassion through influence prestige. Compassion with physical and physical labor. Compassion through giving advice and right direction. Compassion through prayers and forgiveness for them. Compassion for them through sympathy. This empathy varies depending on the strengths and weaknesses of the individual's faith. When a person's faith is strong, compassion is intense. When faith is weak, so is compassion. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was the best of sympathizers to his Companions through all kinds of sympathy. [Al-Fawaa'id , 1/161] Suddenly his friend's shoe broke. Then his friend took the torn shoe in his hand and started walking barefoot. Seeing this, Khalil also took off his shoes and walked barefoot. Then his friend asked him , why did you take off your shoes ? Khalil said: You are walking barefoot so I sympathize with you.
