Electronic nicotine delivery system' or 'electronic cigarette' is used as an alternative to ordinary cigarettes. These battery-powered devices, made of fiber or plastic that look like cigarettes, have a cell. It is filled with a special type of liquid mixture. The device heats up, causing the liquid to evaporate, and the user inhales the vapor into the lungs , giving the impression of smoking. This method is called 'vaping'. Many people think that e-cigarettes help to quit smoking. But here is the controversy. According to cancer experts, there is still no evidence that e-cigarettes help quit smoking, but in some cases, experts claim that its effects are more harmful than regular cigarettes. The use of electronic cigarettes has multiplied in the last few years in countries from the western world to the third world. But despite its popularity, the cigarettes are now banned in many European countries, including our neighboring states of Punjab , Maharashtra , Jammu and Kashmir in India, and local government drug control departments. Multiple studies by health experts in the United States and the United Kingdom have shown that these battery-powered e-cigarettes are no less harmful than cigarettes. It is said that regular use of this device can lead to serious diseases like hypertension , heart attack , pneumonia and cancer.
