answer:Didn't mess up my teeth but when I was like 12 or 13 we had some low-income government funded insurance I think that we had to go to a specific dentist 20 minutes from our house to use. Went in for a cleaning and he said I had a small cavity but that he'd take care of it right away, without consulting my mother in the waiting room. Felt a sudden surge or pain and flinched and he said "yeah I gotta drill a little because it's too small to fill." I was terrified to go to the dentist after that because I assumed they'd just randomly start drilling without warning. My mom also was never notified that they were doing any of that since I was just there for a cleaning (I was still in shock and didn't say anything when we left) and according to her she should have been asked before it was allowed to even happen.
