Discrimination is not the same thing as racism, and the word discrimination in general means learning to make useful classifications, and it is almost impossible to operate without doing some kind of that. But there’s a trap if/when you trust those too much and don’t give people a chance to be different. If you decide that the criteria for deciding how someone is can be reduced to something to do with race, then that is racist. Knowing that there are quite a few bullies in a neighborhood and how they tend to look and act doesn’t make you racist. Assuming everyone you meet of the same race as them is racist.
