Yes. The WHO deems it a variant of concern (rather than one of interest). Thats enough to hype it (if only to get the responsible majority to be aware (again) of the necessity of the basic measures, and to give the less responsible/ignorant/stubborn/extreme religious types a third/fourth chance to do the good thing and make this thing an endemic ASAP.
