Travelling Light?

1 Answer

Answer :

Chances are you’ve traveled on the road, whether it’s for that long-awaited for summer vacation, or a painful work-related stint. Since travel can’t be avoided in our lives, we have to learn to cope with it and learn how to thrive in our weight loss efforts when we are travelling. So, today we are going to look at some of the strategies that you can use to travel healthy on the go.Pack Some Healthy SnacksIf your trip is of the road trip variety, or if you are going to be able to put the food that you want in the cooler, then bust it out and grab some ice. Put some fruit (or veggies) into the cooler along with other items that won’t spoil quickly (drinks are an obvious inclusion here), and throw it in the back or the trunk.Scout Out Some RestaurantsIf you know that you are going to have to eat out eventually, either for business sake or because you can’t pack that much food in a single cooler, then do yourself a favor and do some research about restaurants in the area. On the bright side, since we live in the digital age, you should be able to see the menus of the restaurants and other eating options in the area. If you can, look up the calorie counts (or carbs, or fat, or whatever else you need to track with your medical needs, and try not to be sidetracked by how delicious everything looks!Get A Hotel with A Mini-KitchenIf you can get a hotel room with a mini-kitchen, or if you can keep a room with a refrigerator on your listings, then you can keep some more food on tap, especially healthy foods. Dump out your cooler contents into the fridge and before you know it, you’ll have brought at least a small part of home with you on the trip. Yes, you are going to have to look for a local grocery store to actually make a coherent meal, but trust me, when you hop on the scale and see that you haven’t gained ten pounds, you’ll be thankful you took the time to do it.You will see that, in the end, you are going to be a lot happier and healthier by planning your trip in advance.
