Sam Edelman is a shoe designer who has twice lent part of hisname to a shoe company, and most recently the whole thing to a lineof shoes for women. The first shoe company, Sam & Libby, wasstarted in 1987 with his wife, Libby. This launched them both intostardom within the fashion world, where they remained until thecompany was sold to Maxwell Shoe Company in 1996.In 2004, he and Libby started the second venture, Edelman Shoes,which featured the Sam Edelman shoe line. It was surprisinglydifficult for Sam to break back into the shoe industry due to theyouthful nature of fashion.
