Is a bigger exhaust drum enough for better sound?

I want to squeeze a deeper, better sound out of my engine somehow. How can I achieve this? Should I buy a bigger drum?

It's enough to "tune" an empty drum with cotton. The lining will make your voice deeper. But it can be taken in advance.
