How to Suppress Appetite
Having a slim figure comes as a goal for many. Not only is it viewed with beauty and sexiness, it also pertains to good health. In truth, anyone can have a curvaceous body. You just have to hurdle perhaps the biggest hindrance to physical fitness - having a seemingly insatiable appetite. Even with continuous exercise, if you can’t suppress a large appetite, the chances for getting a slim figure are quite low. So better apply any of these strategies.
Drink Lots of Water
When eating a fine meal, people tend to forget about their liquids. They consume meager amounts of water or fruit juice, in favor of having more spoonfuls of food. To suppress your appetite, you can drink several glasses of water before eating your meals. It lessens your food intake, since water is heavy on your tummy. You can also drink a glass or two whenever you feel like going for snacks, especially the calorie-friendly midnight snack. In the end, your appetite will be controlled and since water is a natural cleanser, you’ll have a cleaner digestive system to boot.
Eat Slowly
People consume more when they eat quickly, since the intake of food overtakes the body’s signals to the brain, which recognize that they’re full. If you chew your food at a relaxed pace, you’ll get filled up faster. The meals that you used to down in a few minutes, will seem a bit too heavy. At first, eating slowly won’t be easy. You must have enough determination to place intervals in-between bites. If you’re can’t control your hunger, drink a glass of water.
Eat Oatmeal with a Helping of Pine Nuts
Oatmeal is a low calorie snack that fills your tummy in an instant. Eating a serving will keep you filled for long hours, which reduces your food intake during lunch or dinner. To reduce your consumption even further, sprinkle liberal amounts of pine nuts on your oatmeal. Pine nuts contain an acid which acts as an appetite suppressant, stopping your hunger for several hours upon consumption.
Soup then Salad
Soups and salads, given their subtle flavors, are served to stimulate your appetite for the main course. The funny thing is, if you eat them in succession, you may not have enough room in your tummy to eat some more. Prepare a low-calorie combo, preferably clear soup followed by a salad with vinaigrette dressing. Consume both meals at a casual pace. After eating, you’ve probably forgotten about the main course.
Strong Determination to Slim Down
The given strategies are pretty effective, but they can only do so much to curb your appetite. You must have a strong desire to slim down and control your hunger, for them to work. Just focus on your goal as you apply the strategies. One day, your vanity mirror might bring you quite a pleasant surprise.
