answer:No. The original (30 years ago) microwaves had stronger magnetrons and had comparatively lousy shielding from waves. Those early generation microwaves were actually fairly dangerous. And remember, back in those days there were far fewer adjustments (power, time, etc.) – they were either always on high, or they were off. But that’s a long, long time ago. Nothing to worry about now as long as you don’t tamper with the shielding. I think there’s still an argument to be made that microwaved food (meat, etc.) doesn’t taste as good as cooked (baked) food, but that’s more a matter of taste.
