One of my closest friends made a remark about my wife (“you never would have married her if she wasn’t pregnant!” She wasn’t.), and I simply hung up the phone, and didn’t speak to him again. He was never a good friend (supportive, etc.), but was a lot of fun to be around. Friend betrayal is a hot button for me.
