What is the structural feature of insulin receptor?

Answer :

Insulin receptor has four subunits, two alpha and two beta subunits. The alpha units are located on the extracellular side, to which insulin binds. The beta subunits are towards cytoplasmic side. Beta subunit has tyrosine kinase activity.
