Do Uninsured Drivers Increase The Costs?

1 Answer

Answer :

Even though it is not legal, some drivers have decided that they want to skip getting insurance on their vehicles. They see this as an easy way to save money. They will not have to pay for the coverage each month or each year, so they can then put that money into their car payments or into their budgets for gasoline. These drivers do not take into account the fact that they will pay more in court fees and fines if they are caught, and they also ignore the fact that an accident will be much more expensive for them than it would be for an insured driver. They just look at the money they have to pay up front. This can also have a bit of an impact on the cost for other drivers as well, though. If you have car insurance Kentucky residents like yourself are supposed to have, you may end up paying more for it because of these uninsured drivers who are breaking the law. For this reason, you need to turn someone in if you know that they are doing this. You are paying because they are saving, after all. This is something that you should put a stop to if you get the chance. The reason that this pushes the costs up is that, in some situations, the person who caused the accident has to pay for it. They have to pay for damage to their own car and to the car of the person they hit. When the person who was At Fault has insurance, this can just take care of it. If they do not have any coverage, though, the person who was hit has to contact their own provider and have them pay for the damages. This means that the company is paying out more money than it would have had to if one of the drivers had not broken the law. Since the company has to spend extra money, the agents then turn around and increase the costs to all of the drivers who have signed up for new plans. They need to make back the thousands of dollars in one way or another, and this is the easiest way to do it. You may not see much of an increase because of one incident, but each small increase could mean you are paying for someone else.
