Can medicines get diluted by drinking water?

1 Answer

Answer :

Yes, but when you swallow it the medicine gets diluted by your stomach contents. In fact some medications must be taken with food so they get diluted in the stomach, slowing the absorption rate.Don't worry about this, the dosage will still be correct if taken as specified in the directions. Dosages are determined by the amount of medicine per kilogram of your body weight, not by dilution of the medicine. As long as you take the same amount of undiluted medicine, you get the same dose no matter how diluted it becomes while being taken or after it is taken.
