Ingredients for Cake:

Butter 100 g

Brown Sugar 8 oz.

Caster Sugar ½ cup

Eggs 3

Flour 2 cups

Baking Powder ½ tsp

Baking Soda ½ tsp

Cinnamon 1 tsp

Salt ½ tsp

Buttermilk 1 cup

Vanilla Essence 1 tsp

Apple (Peeled, chopped) 2 cups

Ingredients for Crumble Topping:

Brown Sugar ½ cup

Flour ½ cup

Cinnamon ½ tsp

Nutmeg Powder ½ tsp

Salt A pinch

Butter (Melted) 100 g

 

Method:

Grease a 9 by 9 inch square pan.

Beat butter and sugar till creamy.

Add egg, one at a time alternating with flour and buttermilk.

Add vanilla essence.

Fold in apples.

Spread mixtures in a pan topped with crumbles and bake at 180 C for 45 minutes.

Method for Crumble:

Mix brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg powder and pinch of salt in a bowl.

Mix in melted butter with your hands to form crumbs.

Sprinkle crumble over the batter and bake.
