Stabbing pain of the arch of the foot

Whether I take long walks or just walk in front of the house, I am sometimes surprised by the stabbing and intense pain of the arch of one foot. It hurts with each step It takes about 10 to 15 minutes. It's not that common, but I'm still scared. Should I deal with it or is it nothing? Can these be signs of an illness?
