How to Lose a Double Chin
Having one chin is enough, but there are many people today who have wobbly second chins smiling at them every time they look in the mirror. No one likes their chin to multiply and show off their fat, but if you’re dealing with this problem, then here are several helpful tips to lose that double chin.
Change Your Diet
Gluttonous eating habits may be the primary reason why you’ve got a double chin. Lose some weight. The more obese you are, the bigger the chance that you get another chin. You can do this by switching to a more balanced diet. Eat less calories and carbs. Stay away from too much processed, fried and sugary foods. Instead, switch to fresh fruits and veggies, lean meat and fiber-rich meals. If you watch what you eat and your weight, your body will slim down and your chin will soon follow.
Practice Good Posture
Perhaps the reason why your double chin shows is because you’re not holding yourself the right way. Make sure you always have good posture. Slouching often makes your whole body, especially your chin, appear sloppy. Stand or sit up straight. Keep your jaws straight, too. This will keep the jaw muscles firm, giving your face a thinner look.
Exercise Your Face
Facial exercises are said to be very effective in strengthening the chin muscles and removing excessive fat. Here are a few examples you can try.

Sit comfortably and hold your head straight. Open your eyes and mouth as widely as you can, then stick out your tongue and push your head forward. This engages the face, chin and neck muscles. Hold for 10 seconds, then relax for 5 to 10 seconds. Repeat five to eight times.
Sit down, then roll back your head slightly, placing your fingertips on your collarbone. Hold the skin of your chin and neck taut. Press your lips together tightly, then push your chin forward, until there’s a stretching feeling through your neck. Hold this for five seconds, relax for another five before repeating. Do this 20 to 30 times.
Lie down, your legs extended and your hands at your sides. Draw up your chin to your chest, then hold for five seconds. Release the bend, then lift your chin as high as you can, without removing your head from the floor. Hold it for five seconds, release, then repeat for 20 to 30 times.
Chew some gum. Even this simple activity can exercise your muscles around the chin and throat, and burns calories as well.
Wrap Your Chin
If you don’t want to change anything about your lifestyle, then you should try the new product out on the market called a chin wrap. It’s anti-aging, helping reaffirm and shrink the skin that’s hanging around your chin. This works quickly and effectively, resculpting the chin and reducing the amount of hanging skin and fat. Results can be seen as quickly in weeks.
Surgery
If you have enough budget, this is an effective tactic you can try. One example is submental lipectomy or neck lift, a plastic surgery procedure where an incision is made under the chin so fat is removed. Surgical procedure works well, but be advised that there might be painful side effects from it, such as infection and blood clotting. As long as you get a good reputable surgeon though, you’ll be in good hands.
Double chins can be a cause of embarrassment, but you don’t have to worry about them. With these easy steps, you can remove them completely.
