How to Build a Led Billboard
How to Build a LED Billboard
LEDs are basically light emitting diodes. They tend to emit light when an electrical power courses through them. A
LED billboard is a kind of signboard popularly used for advertisements which you will commonly see in mega stores,
railway platforms and highways. LED billboards can flicker, animated or simple solid sources of light.
Required Materials
assembler
burner (type 1)
microchip
pic burner or a pre-programmed chip
Instructions
Step one: To make a simple circuit, the display is driven by the PIC by bringing together the selected lines
(i.e. rb4 and rb7). Introduction of the data on the column position or line is then required. Configuration is for a
short duration and it takes on the next row, fresh data is then fed to the lines. Patterned display programs are fed in
the sample ware like an arrow running round the edge of the flashboard, stars or a display of colorful fireworks with
explosion effects. Any you can imagine can be turned into a virtual display with the LED billboard.
Step two: A demo test is done once the device is sufficiently powered. This testing is done to ensure that
the wiring has been done in the correct positions. The LEDs will keep coming until a black dot is detected, which runs
around the display arena. This will change into a lighted mark or dot on a dark background. After a while, the general
looping will start. Wires, which are not used, can be utilized later for a bigger screen display. The smaller frame can
store extended animations, as every frame needs less memory for storage. Some complex and difficult animations can be
compiled using an 8 by 8 frame or a 16 by 16 monitor display with numerous wirings. All sorts of modifications can be
made in terms of display. Generally, square type LEDS are used which makes lining them easy.
Step three: LEDs can be damaged by over-heating. While testing a LED, precautions should be taken that it is
not directly connected to a battery or electric supply. Direct passing of current will burn it up and the LED will get
destroyed. A resistor is a must in any LED to limit the current supply. LEDs are available in various colours like
blue, yellow green, red. White and blue coloured LEDs are slightly more costly than any of the others.
Some of the leading electrical companies and developers of LED display screens like Shenzhen SBC Photo Electricity
Company Limited is customer oriented and deliver class products. These companies attract buyers from all over the globe
as they have all types of LEDs - indoor, outdoor design functions, arty designs and all of the latest technology.
Multinational banks to corporate offices all use LED display billboards. They even apply to schools, stations,
hospitals, airports, shopping centers, parks and plazas. China is one of the largest competitors in the global market
for producing state of art LEDs.
