Controversy among scholars. Some say that zakat is not obligatory on the wealth of minors and lunatics. Because they are out of the obligation to follow the rules and regulations of Shariat. Therefore , zakat will not be required on their wealth. Some scholars have said that zakat will be required on their wealth. And this is pure. Because zakat is the right of wealth. It is not a matter of who owns it. Allah says , ﴿خُذۡ مِنۡ َۡمۡوَٰلِهِمۡ صَدَقَةٗ﴾ [التوبة: 8] [Surah At-Tawbah , verse: 103] Besides, Mu'ah Ibn Jabal (May Allah be pleased with him) sent unto the Prophet (াল) of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and said , " أعلمهم أن الله أموالهم تؤخذ من أغنيائهم وترد على أغنيائهم وترد على فقرائهم » "Let them inform them of Allah.
